In response to the Olympic Truce Eelyn Lee was commissioned to make a new piece of moving image work in collaboration with young people from east London. Inspired by old master paintings the film comprises three slow motion tableaux depicting groups of people in moments of TRUCE.
Working with photographers Tim & Barry, cinematographer Winstan Whitter and young filmmakers, photographers and performers, Eelyn and her ensemble of collaborators staged three scenes of TRUCE in locations around Hackney.
In November 2012 Truce Triptych [2012/3mins] was selected for Les Internationales Rencontres, a festival celebrating new cinema and contemporary art. It screened at Paris's Palais de Tokyo, one of Europe's major visual art venues before screening at Whitechapel Gallery, Imperial War Museum and Tate Modern.
